The Twelve Days of Christmas
As most of you know, the Twelve Days of Christmas is a traditional Christmas song. To play off the song I have put this Twelve Days of Christmas Nativity together.
I wanted to do something special for my grandchildren this year for Christmas so I put together a twelve days of Christmas with a Nativity Theme. The idea is to use a Nativity set and give them one piece of the Nativity set every day for the 12 days of Christmas leading up to Christmas day.
Each day they will open a piece of the Nativity, and on Christmas they will get the last piece, which is Christ. Above is the nativity set that I bought at Sam's Club.
My nativity only had 11 pieces, so on the first day I gave them the book "A Christ Centered Christmas" by Emily Belle Freeman and David Butler. On the book I put the nativity tag labeled "you".
Each piece of the nativity I wrapped up separately in gold tissue paper and placed them in a gold cellophane bag. The present inside included one peice of the Nativity with a coordinating card that has the name of the Nativity piece and a scripture to match. You will find the printout for this Nativity cards below.
The book and the box with the stable in it I wrapped in coordinating gold paper. I like to include the box that the Nativity came in so that they can pack it away after Christmas.
The Twelve Day Tags:
On the bow I tied the coordinating tag below.
The tag is to tell them which day that they can open the present.
I printed mine on a pearl colored card stock that I bought at Walmart in the paper section.
On the first day I also included a piece of jute string and some clothes pins with numbers on them. That way they could make a banner with the Nativity story on it.
For each gift I have made a printout of the scripture to go with it. I wrapped the printout inside the present with the matching Nativity item. After unwrapping each present they can hang the scripture on the clothespin banner.

Nativity Tags:
Place the Nativity tag that matches the Nativity piece in the gift together and wrap them up. For example, the Mary Nativity piece should go with the Mary card.
You should have 12 gifts total to equal the
12 days of Christmas.
If you have too many pieces in your Nativity, then double them up.
Christ
Remember that Christ should be the last piece because he was born on Christmas day. Sometimes it's fun to hide him under the tree and have him be the last present to open so that it turns your attention back to Him.
